High school spirit!

Okay, so especially for Thea is here my blog in English:)

So first of all I'm having an amazing time here! Time goes really fast because I have already been in the United States for 3 weeks!

The people in school are really nice and in my previous blog I forgot to tell that there are 7 more exchange students going to my school. There are 4 boys from China, who are going to this high school for a couple of years because you need an high school diploma to go too an American college. Then there's a girl from Norway, a girl from Vietnam, a boy from Germany and me. So there are 8 exchange students and we have a couple of classes together to improve our English, those classes are really fun:) Then there are who are really nice and very different from the teachers back home. I wouldn't say that the teachers are more friendly or more helpful but the relationship between the teachers and the students is more a friendship relationship, haha if you still know what I'm talking about:s

My school starts at 7.35 so at 7.00 me and Camille leave the house. Everyday I have the same subjects and everyday Wednesday we have Mass. They put an altar in the gym and an priest talks about Jesus. Last week it was 9/11 so of course they talked about that. But I was almost falling asleep because it was so boring. But then al of a sudden the priest started yelling that all Muslims are evil and that they are bad! After that I couldn't sleep any more! After school I ride to the tennis court with a friend of mine who also plays tennis. Because everyday after school we have practice for an hour and a half. After that I go home and make homework:( I have quit a lot of homework though, especially for math. Math and American literature are kind of hard to understand but all of my other classes are going pretty good:) On Friday night everyone went to the football game but we didn't even know who won because we were talking the whole entire game:) I tried to understand the game but basically the players throw each other in the ground trying to get the ball to the other side. But I did experience the high school spirit though, because everyone started singing this song and everyone was cheering for the team, so that was nice!

Now something about my host family!
My host family is amazing! Two weeks ago we went to Madison, the capital of Wisconsin. There was a farmers market where they had a lot of vegetables and crafts, it was really cool! We also went to two museums, one about Wisconsin and an army museum and we went into the capital. It kind of looked like the white house, it was really pretty. Last week we went to Appleton, a bigger city where they have a HUGE mall. We went there to buy a homecoming dress because the first week of October is homecoming and literally everyone is talking about it:"with whom are you going?""Do you have a dress yet?" But homecoming is a whole week where there are a lot of activities after school. Everyday they have a dress code, for example Monday is twin day, so you and a friend of yours dress up the same:) And Friday is the homecoming dance where they dress up really nice and then they go partying in the gym. Anyways in the mall there was a story where they sold homecoming dresses and I literally didn't know where to look. Every dress had sparkles everywhere! But eventually I found a dress!

I also made some friends and Friday we are having a movie night:)

Ik hoop dat iedereen een beetje begrijpt wat ik nou allemaal geschreven heb want ik ben een beetje van de hak op de tak gegaan:s

Love,
Rianne
